The most important "insurance measure" you can take with your high performance 1960-1964 Chevy / Pontiac ( especially 4 speed cars ) is the addition of a 2nd ( left side ) upper control arm on the rear end housing. Unavoidably neccessary if the car achieves any amount of traction, this assembly will help prevent a bent axle housing. Extremely carefully designed to appear as a factory stock installation. Requires only slight "fitting" to individual housings. Includes diagram, measurements and instructions for installation. You will need a stock upper control arm, frame bracket, shims and bolts from a "donor" parts car.

In addition to the above bracket is this housing "web" arrangement which is recommended for cars using slicks. It consists of a simple 3/16" X 1" strap on the bottom, and two carefully contoured plates which get welded to the rear of the housing. Comes with instructions. These do require careful welding procedures.

Shown here is a stock bearing cap that has been prepared to accept the girdle. Kit includes longer "grade 8" bolts, and an extended adjuster "lock" bracket.
Once the housing is secured the next step is to secure those brittle differential bearing caps. This is done with our carefully machined 1/2" thick steel bearing cap girdles shown installed here. I have yet to see a broken rear end after the installation of these caps ! Very high quality. Includes new lengthened side bearing adjuster locks, longer grade 8 bolts, and instructions. A small amount of grinding / filing is required to fit individual caps.

After relentless research and testing, we have developed this system for the early Chevy/CDN Pontiac rear which renders the unit totally sutable for virtually all types of performance useage.
Here are the new Moser 30 spline ( Dana 44 ) axles, which are made exclusively for A Bruneau Performance Enterprises. You can see the increased spline diamter. Also, check out the bearing end ! The new axles have the diameter increased from 35 mm, to just under 39 mm.
On the left is the new bearing assembly for use with the Moser axles. Installation requires a minor "opening" of the housing end. Complete instructions are included with the kit.
Here is the complete internal kit for upgrading the 1959-1964 Chevrolet / Canadian Pontiac rear end. It includes, new 30 spline Dana 44 side gear/spider gear assembly, new posi clutch plates, new axle bearings, and new Moser racing axles with new studs ( 7/16" or 1/2" studs ).
Total price for this kit as pictured, plus two new steel bearing retaining flanges ( replaces the original sheet metal parts on your original axles... you will not need to pull off your old bearings to re-use them )...

For the guys who will be doing serious drag racing, we have just created our own exclusive rear end spool which takes the place of the posi differential unit. Virtually indestructable, it also is more rigid than the stock part. This will eliminate any deflection between the pinion and ring gears... thereby strengthening the entire unit and greatly improving ring and pinion life.
