The air cleaner base installed. Then a view of the headers after approximately 6-7 inches was taken out of the primary tubing length. This helped raise the torque curve a little bit, and a few extra horsepower on the top end.
On the left, just arrived at Medicine Hat, Alberta drag strip, May 14, 2005. Here's my son, Donovan, being a brat !
Had REAL FUN this time ! ..... Results:
With a 4400 ft barometer reading, 25 KPH side/head wind, 80+ degrees
11.87 @ 114.5 MPH , with a spinning 1.78 60 ft ( clutch was hitting a little hard )... Driving relatively easy, releasing the gas pedal on each gear change... using the clutch of course !
Not too bad ? !
Reportedly, the last 409 Chevy in Stock Eliminator, was 2 10th's OVER the 11.65 C Stock index ! The D Stock Index in Medicine Hat is 12.14.

I just boxed the rear lower control arms and completely re-bushed the suspension with "Energy Suspension" polyurethane bushings.

Car is now being disassembled... getting the rear suspension upper control arm mount relocated, completely rebushing the front suspension... and freshening the engine. Will be changing to 5.13 gears, and going to 29.5" X 9" Mickey Thompson tires.
