1961 Chevrolet / Pontiac 261 Engine Build
For George from British Columbia !
Plans are to bore the block and use our own custom designed forged pistons with a 9.5:1 compression ratio. The head is going to be fully prepped and ported. Camshaft will be our own spec'd MODERN lobe profile hydraulic, made for us by Comp Cams. Then the engine will be outfitted with a new Offenhauser 2 carb manifold and tube headers !
The engine is then destined for installation in a restored 1953 Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup !
Here's the 1961 Chevrolet / Canadian Pontiac 261 cubic inch 6 cylinder engine that we supplied george with for this build. Easilly identified as a 261 ( rather than 235 ) by the two vertical lines in the block casting, beside the starter solenoid.
Most of the engine disassembled. Now ready to be hot tanked and bored.
