1967 Pontiac Firebird

BUILT 10:1 Pontiac 400, Muncie M20 4 speed, original 3.55 posi with factory traction links ! power steering / power brakes.

This body / paint job was for Mike from Alberta.

This car was originally gold, but someone in the late 80's had painted it a disgusting metallic charcoal gray ! This was me with my 1960 Nomad SW ( factory 348 ) picking up the Firebird to bring it to the shop.

After the body work, a little etching primer..... and a full coat of high build...

Now a couple rounds of block sanding with the long board...

Here are the hood a trunk lid being prepared inside and out.

The engine before disassembly. Will be getting fully detailed !

Finally, we settled on the colour, and got the car into the paint booth ! Dupont Centari acrylic enamel, Jaguar gold. Updates in a few days.

Here we are after removing the engine / transmission... sub-frame and firewall cleaned. Now time to sand and prep for paint.

The rad support and other parts were painted at the same time. A little detailing, and the engine is ready to go back in.

With the sub-frame, firewall and rear suspension / axle painted, the car is now in the show room of the shop for assembly.

After waiting for some special ordered parts, here we're detailing and installing the engine. The 1967 Pontiac 400 was the first to receive the silver/blue paint.
