Tom 409 Chevrolet Engine

409 Chevrolet engine was built for Tom from British Columbia ! Will be finding it's home in a 1963 Impala convertible / 4 speed.

Here is the short block going together. We of course used our exclusive A Bruneau designed forged pistons.

We spent much time milling the insides of the domes of the pistons in order to achieve an internal balance. My son, Donovan, just turned 5 years old, is showing us one of the assemblies !

Engine assemled... Tom then upgraded to an Offenhauser dual 4 barrel intake.

Engine was then set in a chassis, and test run for an hour... breaking in the cam, tuning adjustments, and finally doing a thorough oil change.

After the "break-in".... engine was removed and cleaned up. Carburetors are new Edelbrock P/N 1404 500 CFM AFB 4 bbl's, jetted down a touch. Fuel lines and linkage were designed and made in house.

Crated up, with headers and Super T10 transmission... ready for shipping to BC.
